Diagnostic Evaluation

Have others suggested you or your child may have ADD or ADHD? Are you wondering after reading or seeing some information on Attention Deficit Disorders whether that might explain some aspects of your life? This is a place to start finding the answers!

A one hour appointment will be the first step, then follow-up appointments as we need them.  Please pre-register (top menu bar on the Home page) and complete the Symptom Assessment. This background information is very important in your evaluation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT MADE UNTIL THIS IS COMPLETED AND RECEIVED.

Observations about behaviors are one of the important aspects of diagnosis; this may be by parents and teachers about children and teens, by teens or adults about themselves, by spouses or siblings or even parents about adults. There are well-validated rating scales I use for this, many of which are included in the Symptom Assessment located on the top menu bar of our Home page. Please send prior to the appointment, or bring  to the initial appointment any records of past testing or evaluations.

Quantitative EEG is another diagnostic tool which can be very helpful as an objective measure for the presence or absence of AD/HD. It has been validated by numerous studies (references available upon request). This test is performed in our office, data sent for computer analysis and results reviewed with you in the context of other information gathered at the initial visit. This test is also known as a qEEG.

If you have seen Dr. Pomeroy and he has asked for you and/or your child's teacher to complete an assessment (rating scale of behaviors) , please download the appropriate ones from the list below and either mail it, FAX it (206 339-5465) or bring it to your appointment.
