qEEG Diagnostic Testing for AD/HD

AD/HD is a disorder of the brain associated with lack of impulse control, inattention and other behavior problems. It affects an estimated 7 to 10 percent of school-age children, and an estimated 4 percent of all adults. It can be challenging to sort out the reasons for difficulties people face. Many other conditions can occur with AD/HD or mimic its symptoms.

The use of qEEG to distinguish between AD/HD and learning disorders in children was supported by a report to the American College of Neuropsychiatry in October of 2006, as well as other studies conducted on this methodology.

A qEEG complements, but does not  substitute for  a detailed evaluation of a patient’s history and a medical examination. Dr. Pomeroy uses an experienced team to assist him in objective, reliable analysis of EEG data to support the assessment of patients presenting with attention problems. In addition, the service is covered by most insurance companies.
